(Cen Cal) Fees: None, this is a volunteer event Purpose of Dive: To safely recover, trash, junk and maybe the occasional treasure from the ocean floor under and around Wharf II (without causing harm to existing marine life). Water Quality Status: Check the following web site the night before - just in case the dive is canceled due to a pollution advisory: http://www.co.monterey.ca.us/health/beaches/ Times: Divers: Check in at 8:30am, Dive at 9:30am Non-Diversp: Please check in at 8:00am - Diving activities to end by 1:00pm. BBQ: Starts at 1:00PM on Delmonte Beach near Wharf II and the bathrooms. We will provide hotdogs and fixings, cookies and soft drinks. Feel free to bring a hotdog dish to share. FREE FOR PARTICIPANTS AND THEIR FAMILIES! Prizes: Starting at 1:30 we will be giving away prizes (donated by local dive shops, charter boats and others) for the most trash recovered, most unsual item found etc.. We Need: Divers: to help clean up the Monterey Harbor and our marine environment. Diver Information: Registration on Site: Pre-Registration: Not required but helpful in planning the clean-up dive and BBQ. To pre-register send an email to divecleanup2005@yahoo.com Shore Diving: The outside of Wharf II are accessible by diving from the beach. Boat Diving: Boats to ferry divers to and from the outer dive sites for intermediate and advanced divers. A briefing will be held before departing. Equipment: Divers must provide all of their own SCUBA equipment. It must be in good working order. A dive light, whistle and safety sausage ar erecommended. Bring a goody bag to collect your junk and treasuresof the deep. Rinse Down Area: Hose at the boat ramp in front of the Harbor Master's Office. Do Not Bring Up: car batteries, paint cans, oil cans or any item that may be hazardous. Let us know where these items are located and we recover them on a later date. Marine Critters: We want to protect the marine life in our ocean. Please carefully remove any marine critters from objects you bring up prior to removing them from the ocean floor. We will have volunteers searching through items brought up to rescue any critters that make it to the beach. Emergency Information:
